Job Purpose:
The PTW Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system in compliance with ADNOC and international HSE standards. The role involves coordinating work permits, risk assessments, and isolations to ensure all hazardous activities are properly controlled and authorized.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Permit to Work System Management

  • Administer and monitor the PTW system in line with ADNOC CoPs (Codes of Practice) and HSE regulations.
  • Ensure all work permits (Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space Entry, Excavation, etc.) are correctly issued, tracked, and closed.
  • Verify that permit requests include proper risk assessments (JSA, TRA), isolations, and safety measures.
2. Coordination & Communication
  • Liaise between operations, maintenance, contractors, and HSE teams to ensure safe work execution.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings to clarify permit conditions and safety requirements.
  • Ensure proper handover of permits during shift changes.
3. Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all work activities comply with ADNOC, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct audits and spot checks to verify permit compliance.
  • Stop unsafe work and report violations to HSE and site management.
4. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, isolations, and equipment status.
  • Generate daily/weekly PTW reports for site management.
  • Participate in incident investigations related to permit violations.
5. Training & Awareness
  • Train personnel and contractors on PTW procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture regarding permit-controlled work.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Engineering, HSE, or related field.
  • Certification: NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years in PTW coordination within oil & gas (ADNOC experience is a plus).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in PTW software (SAP, Intelex, etc.), risk assessment methods (JSA, HAZID).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
