Job description

The candidate shall be assigned to oversee an internationally based integrated consultancy and advisory team.

The candidate must be residing in UAE.

The team comprises experts in various fields such as Net Zero, Sustainability, LEED APs, PQPs, trainers, CxA, construction managers, MBAs, and building physics PhDs.

Milestone projects include EXPO 2020 Dubai, NYU Abu Dhabi Campus, ICD Brookfield Headquarters, Mostadam development, and KSA’s Green Building Rating System, among others.

Reports Directly to :

Country Manager and/or Senior Technical Operations Manager

Roles and Responsibilities :
  1. Develop the vision, objectives, and goals for the Sustainability department.
  2. Create a Project Management Plan outlining the approach and strategy.
  3. Define the remit/scope for the Department.
  4. Establish the organizational structure.
  5. Develop roles and responsibilities matrix for all positions.
  6. Set reporting structures and lines from all programs into the centralized department.
  7. Assign roles and responsibilities individually.
  8. Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Department.
  9. Conduct final organization audits for all sustainability departments in projects and prepare recommendations for top Management.
  10. Establish auditing and oversight procedures, reporting templates for project progress against sustainability targets.
  11. Prepare monthly management reports summarizing sustainability performance for the client’s assets.
HSE Roles, Responsibilities and Accountability :
  • The Managing Director’s HSE role is to ensure awareness of the Company’s HSE Policy among all Employees.
  • Responsibility: As per IMS_01, Clase 5.5.1, for resource allocation for the effective implementation of the Company’s Integrated Management System.
Skills :
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Environmental, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture, plus MBA or equivalent experience.
  • 15-20 years of industry experience (technical consulting not necessarily in sustainability).
  • LEED AP or Commissioning Certifications.
  • GCC experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, including understanding contract language.
  • Valid passport for travel within GCC and EU.
  • Knowledge of sustainability standards: LEED, BREEAM, Green Star, QSAS, Estidama.
  • Proven leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Strong facilitation, team building, and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in new business development.
  • Understanding of finance, accounting, branding, and marketing.
  • Experience with Business Law and Contract Law.
  • Motivator with high professionalism and excellent stakeholder interaction skills.
