Income Audit Manager
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Check the completeness of all income from various systems (such as front office, food & beverage, communications, retail, etc.) into the accounting system and daily report.
- Ensure all forms of rebates, allowances, complimentary items, adjustments, voids, negatives, and the like are test-checked for approval against supporting documentation. Highlight unusual or questionable items to the Financial Controller and prepare summaries with supporting documentation for approval by senior management and subsequent filing for audit purposes.
- Ensure all banquet revenue is complete and accurate daily by comparing with BEOs and other documentation. Follow up on any variances with the Banquets Team and obtain approval from the Financial Controller and Director of Events.
- Verify room rate variances and the complimentary in-house guest reports regularly, ensuring they are approved by the Rooms Division and backed up properly for upgrades and complimentary rooms. Obtain approval from the Director of Finance and file accordingly.
- Test-check rates for other revenues (food & beverage, retail, communications, etc.) regularly against supporting documentation.
- Ensure the foreign exchange rates quoted at the front desk are current and in accordance with the agreed mark-up policy, considering market fluctuations.
- Review food & beverage and other revenue functions and credit policies by examining reports such as open checks and cashier closing reports. Follow up on unusual or incomplete items and highlight issues to the Financial Controller.
- Ensure relevant system reports (night audit, housekeeping discrepancy reports, etc.) are prepared, completed, and followed through. Periodically test-check these reports and highlight any anomalies to the Financial Controller.
- Conduct regular unannounced visits to revenue areas for physical spot-checks to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Report discrepancies to the Income Financial Controller.
- Prepare and submit daily procedures and reports for officer and entertainment checks, highlighting any unusual items for approval.
- Reconcile cashier and general cashier reports daily, following up on outstanding or unusual transactions promptly.
- Use audit techniques and initiative to verify the completeness and accuracy of total income, following through on unusual transactions.
- Immediately report any material non-compliance, potential fraud, violations, or internal control deficiencies to the Financial Controller.
- Ensure timely preparation of General Ledger postings and contribute to the month-end accounts process for accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain organized records for ease of reference, tidiness, and audit purposes, utilizing electronic storage in compliance with government regulations.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth resort operations, effective communication, and a positive working environment.
- Undertake any other assignments reasonably issued by the Financial Controller.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Minimum education of a high vocational diploma in accounting.
- Preferably relevant experience in the required role.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage demanding deadlines.
- Excellent research, interpersonal skills, and creative thinking abilities.
- Extensive experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Iscala and OPERA systems is an advantage.
