Job Purpose
To manage, monitor, and ensure the timely and safe transportation/shipment of the “Rotables” components of the Air Arabia fleet and third-party aircraft from technical stores to designated service providers. Follow up on repairs and redelivery of components to facilitate maintenance tasks and maintain stock levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Planning Engineer to prepare service orders for components scheduled for repair, coordinating with service providers to ensure timely and proper repairs using available reporting tools.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of all “Rotables” components to monitor repair progress, control the “Rotables” pool, and ensure unserviceable components are returned promptly.
- Coordinate with the Warranty Engineer to prepare warranty documents, ensuring adherence to TAT and exploring warranty claims when applicable.
- Work with Stores and Quality Assurance to identify expired components based on shelf-life, and take immediate action to replace them within budget, maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for repairs, advising the Technical Procurement/Stores Supervisor on components to scrap or deem as Beyond Economical Repair (BER).
- Provide weekly shortages reports to the Stores Supervisor and inform them of any damaged components received.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate with freight/courier services regarding shipments, including dangerous goods, negotiating costs, and preparing shipping documents.
- Manage packing and shipment preparations to prevent damages and hazards, documenting shipment conditions thoroughly.
- Maintain records of vendor contracts, SLAs, and certifications, ensuring compliance and timely renewals, and contribute to vendor performance evaluations.
- Keep updated records of all documentation related to returned components for future reference.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify health and safety hazards, implementing corrective measures.
- Coordinate with Technical Buyers on aircraft parts “robbery” procedures during AOG situations.
- Arrange gate passes for trucks transporting tires and other materials as required.
Profile Description
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or equivalent; a degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aeronautical, Electro-Mechanical, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Alternatively, a higher diploma or certification in a related field with relevant experience.
- IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations training certificate is mandatory.
- Engineering Inventory Software certification is advantageous.
- Project Management certification or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Additional training in Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting, and Quality Assurance is valuable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Valid UAE Driving License or ability to obtain one quickly.
Work Experience
- Ability to work in rotating shifts.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role managing “Rotables” in the aviation industry, preferably in a low-cost airline.
- Knowledge of procurement, inventory management systems, and UAE GCAA regulations related to aircraft parts and shipments.
- Experience with “Rotables” pool management, TAT, and stock level maintenance.
- Vendor relationship management, contract, and SLA experience.
- Skills in cost estimation and budget management.
- Ability to work under heavy workloads and handle ad-hoc scenarios.
- Adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards with high accuracy and attention to detail.
