Job Purpose:Senior Marketing Managers independently establish, maintain, and evaluate marketing plans in line with Event Strategies with final sign-off from the Portfolio Marketing Lead.

Direct Reports:The Senior Marketing Manager is most likely to have direct reports including a Marketing Manager (where applicable), Marketing Executive, and/or Marketing Coordinators, and can manage, nurture, and empower both direct and indirect reports.

Key Accountabilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Manage a team of marketers working across a range of eventswithin the portfolio.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and inspiration to direct line reports.
  • Contribute to a culture of positivity, high performance and a growth mindset.
  • Where applicable develop clear development roadmaps for high potentials.
  • Ensure direct line reports are competent people managers and have the skills and training required to manage junior team members or specialists.
  • Identify training needs and ensure line reports are technically proficient.
  • Champion the adoption and optimization of marketing technology solutions.
  • Ability to persuade and influence senior members of the team with fact-based insight and feedback.

Planning, Campaign Management & Execution, Analysis & Insights:

  • Lead on the strategic thinking, planning, and execution of an integrated multi-channel marketing plan and budget that aligns with the overall Event Strategy.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the industry and supply chain the event serves, including its key stakeholders for data segmentation and messaging purposes.
  • Develop personas, value propositions, and messaging for each of the key stakeholder profiles.
  • Work closely with direct line reports to ensure successful delivery of marketing campaigns in line with agreed KPI’s.
  • Create and deliver a Content Marketing plan that resonates with your audience and supports event goals.
  • Create a website strategy that attracts and converts visitors, using Google Analytics to effectiveness.
  • Ensure show websites are fully up to date with the latest information in accordance with the campaign cycle.
  • Ensure all social media channels are setup accordingly with business guidelines, frequently maintained and monitored to attract, engage, and convert followers.
  • Create a well-thought-through data build and verification strategy aligned with your event goals and KPIs.
  • Work with internal compliance team to ensure all activities meet expectations.
  • Work with shared services teams (data, digital etc.) ensuring requirements are submitted in advance of the deadline date and that the brief is clear and specific.
  • Effectively manage third-party suppliers and partners with clear, documented service level agreements to ensure deliverables are of the highest standard. This includes but is not limited to PR, digital, social media, and registration agencies.
  • Build and manage relationships with key media partners and associations to support efforts in creating awareness and driving participation.
  • Coordinate the design and production of all marketing collateral e.g. sales brochures, post-show reports, print ads, web banners, email templates etc., in a format that delights, engages, and drive conversions.
  • Write creative, persuasive copy for a wide range of media, ensuring it has gone through the necessary approvals and is error-free.
  • Have a keen interest in and ability to analyze and report on response rates and trends from activities and campaigns to ensure we’re on track to meet KPIs, improve campaign performance, identify growth opportunities, and pre-empt risk.
  • Share relevant insights and recommendations with sales, event teams, and senior management, using available analytical and visualization tools.
  • Stay closely connected to the core customer profiles, collecting feedback to ensure the event is meeting their expectations and that you’re aware of industry changes and nuances.
  • Keep abreast of and explore new marketing channels, tactics, and methodologies to enhance marketing performance.
  • Continuously seek and test innovative and creative communication techniques and formats that delight and excite our audiences.
  • Contribute to other team projects and initiatives, remaining flexible and willing to contribute.

Qualifications and experience:

  • At least 4-5 years year's demonstrable experience in events and / or B2B media.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude required to learn.
  • Detailed knowledge of marketing best practices with a strong knowledge and understanding of social media marketing.
  • Experience in the Middle East market is a plus.
  • Arabic written and spoken is a strong asset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for business and events.
  • Experience in dealing with and managing key stakeholder relations.
  • Ability to network and liaise with senior people/trade bodies and associations
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in 360 marketing and measurement.
