Job Purpose
To plan and organize end-to-end processes for unserviceable components, from receipt to disposition, ensuring timely and cost-efficient support for aircraft operations. Responsible for effective management of the component lifecycle, including technical due diligence, periodic reviews, and cost reduction initiatives. Leads supplier performance reviews to ensure effective communication and expectations, controlling the component lifecycle for optimal utilization. Manages teams in Total Component Support (TCS), logistics, expediting, and repair to enhance time and cost efficiency in component pool and repair cycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the component repair management team across the entire supply chain for rotatable components.
- Establish clear reporting lines to enhance efficiency and clarity among team members.
- Develop KPIs to improve cost efficiency and align with departmental objectives.
- Monitor and manage service levels of PBH contractors, addressing SLA variances and TAT delays to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with Line & Base Maintenance to optimize component installation and removal processes, avoiding delays and penalties.
- Utilize AMOS data analytics to identify trends and implement corrective actions in logistics and repair processes.
- Support the transition from TCS to TCM phase, reviewing and updating SOPs for smooth operations.
- Engage with technical services and cross-functional teams for effective repair cycle management and disposition decisions.
- Assess and develop new repair service providers to support Air Arabia’s operational expansion.
- Implement continuous improvement and automation initiatives within repair and component management functions.
- Administer the Total Component Support program in accordance with contractual terms.
- Establish KPIs related to repair costs, negotiating better pricing, exploring local repair options, and building in-house capabilities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure contractual SLAs are met, managing component availability and timelines.
- Engage with service providers on cost claims, acting as a liaison to achieve cost efficiencies.
- Review and evaluate parts declared as scrap, providing dispositions aligned with contracts and support conditions.
- Perform technical and commercial analysis of repair estimates, ensuring legitimacy and approval compliance.
- Negotiate claims related to damages and warranties, settling final claims with repairers and OEMs.
- Analyze reliability data and industry trends to prevent repetitive defects and improve component reliability.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Planning, and Procurement to ensure efficient scheduling and maximum component coverage.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and regulations.
- Negotiate repair contracts, pricing, and turnaround times with vendors and MROs.
- Conduct audits of repair vendors to ensure quality and compliance.
- Maximize value from surplus and scrap items following SOPs.
Profile Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in component repair within the aviation industry.
- Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (GCAA, FAA, EASA).
- Proficiency in AMOS and analytics tools.
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of component repair reports and estimates.
- Experience working with teams under heavy workloads and ad-hoc scenarios.
- Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Cost-oriented with problem-solving skills.
