Senior Technical Product Owners (STPO) apply technical knowledge and experience to solve business problems. Acting as the "front door" to product engineering teams, they feed the backlog with work across features, functions, non-functional requirements (NFR), BAU, Technical Debt, spikes, and ceremonies. This role serves as the "voice of the customer" and leads the lifecycle for critical technology applications across the Emirates Group. An expert in their business domain or technical expertise, they are accountable for enabling business objectives and strategic outcomes from concept through to operations.
In this role, you will be :
GENERIC :
- Responsible for story content, acceptance criteria definition, and end story sign-off across team backlogs, ensuring preparation on time for future PI’s, frequent refinement with the team, and prioritization aligned with other teams.
- Ensure Technical Debt and NFRs are captured, refined, and prioritized across all sprints.
- Capture BAU, Ceremony, and Spike activities, and incorporate into team backlogs within capacity limits.
- Contribute to PI demos in collaboration with other Product Owners.
- Maintain quality and integrity of features within technical and team boundaries, identifying and communicating risks and dependencies back to the Product Portfolio backlog.
- Attend and contribute to key Product Management meetings, especially PI Planning.
- Define metrics to measure success and performance of prioritized work, facilitating further BAU iterations.
- Mentor and coach peers and team members in their professional development, training, and understanding of product, technologies, and processes as a chapter lead.
- Contribute to the evolution of Product Management communities to promote best practices and empowered teams.
- Work with your team(s) to identify and capture innovation ideas, consolidating them for presentation to the TPM community.
Specific to ED&A :
- Own data and information products, ensuring compliance with Enterprise Data and Analytics guidelines and architecture.
- Create and maintain consistent metadata documentation, including information matrix, entity definitions, relationships, KPIs, data dictionaries, and user guides.
Qualifications & Experience
To qualify, candidates should have :
Education :
- A degree or honors (12+3 or equivalent).
- Experience in Operations Research, Marketing Science, Information Systems, e-Commerce, or equivalent industry certification with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Global Product certifications (CSPO / SAFe / PSPO).
- Proven experience as a Product Owner/Manager, driving change and delivery at pace.
- Experience within a Scaled Agile framework across multiple initiatives and teams is a plus.
- Demonstrated technical or domain expertise relevant to the role.
- Proficiency with product management tools and strong communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships and a customer-centric mindset.
Specific to ED&A :
- Understanding of transaction systems, relevant business processes, and data used in airline and ground handling industries.
- Knowledge of modern data architecture, analytical skills, and BI principles.
