Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Assistant IT Manager to support the IT operations at Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of Marriott systems, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering seamless IT support in a hospitality environment. You will assist in managing the IT infrastructure, ensuring the availability and security of systems, and supporting staff and guest technology needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all hotel IT systems in accordance with Marriott International's global standards.
- Provide hands-on support for hardware and software issues across all departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and Sales.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Marriott-specific systems such as Marriott GXP, MARSHA, Opera PMS, MICROS POS, and Marriott Cybersecurity protocols.
- Monitor and maintain property network infrastructure, ensuring stable connectivity for operations and guests.
- Coordinate with Marriott Technology teams and third-party vendors for system updates, audits, and compliance checks.
- Ensure all data and systems are securely backed up and meet Marriott’s information security requirements.
- Maintain IT inventory and conduct periodic audits to ensure system readiness and compliance.
- Train hotel associates on IT systems and basic troubleshooting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Respond to and resolve user requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Support the integration of new systems and technology projects within the property.
- Maintain documentation of configurations, SOPs, and support tickets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT support, in a hospitality environment; experience with Marriott Hotels highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality IT systems such as Opera PMS, MARSHA, MICROS POS, GXP, and Cybersecurity tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage IT incidents under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively support both internal teams and guests.
- Familiarity with Global IT compliance standards, policies, and data security practices is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Experience with cloud-based systems and cybersecurity best practices.
- Project coordination or experience implementing new technologies at the property level.
