Job Summary
The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong HR operations experience, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive mindset. The successful candidate will support various HR functions, operational activities, employee relations, and performance management—ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws and AUE’s internal policies.
Note: Arabic language skills are mandatory.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management, or a related field from an accredited university. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations, employee relations, performance monitoring, and employee counseling.
- Hands-on experience with HR systems.
- Knowledge of UAE Labour Law and practices.
- Professional HR certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in Arabic is mandatory.
Job Description
- Maintain updated job descriptions for all employees, ensuring they are issued and signed by new joiners.
- Coordinate visa and passport applications, renewals, and cancellations for employees.
- Oversee faculty and administrative staff orientation schedules and maintain attendance and checklist records.
- Assist new joiners with onboarding procedures, liaising with relevant departments to create accounts, emails, and arrange office setup.
- Arrange travel itineraries, flights, and hotel bookings for recruits, visitors, and university events.
- Prepare onboarding announcement templates for new hires.
- Set up new employee files, ensure all documents are available, and follow up on missing documents.
- Manage employee insurance requirements, including additions, deletions, and claims follow-up.
- Conduct regular HR file audits, report missing documents, and follow up accordingly.
- Prepare reports for CHEDS and other management requests, including statistical and analytical reports.
- Organize employee-related activities and events such as Admin Day, Faculty Day, and birthdays.
- Provide employee services, including issuing letters, calculating leaves, and addressing HR-related inquiries.
- Identify training needs, coordinate with providers, and maintain training reports.
- Follow up on performance evaluations, probation reports, and confirmation letters.
- Benchmark HR policies and procedures, and update them as needed.
- Verify leave applications and balances for faculty and staff.
- Ensure all faculty and staff records are updated in HRIS, shared folders, and physical files.
- Coordinate staff discounts and benefits with external companies.
- Maintain records for suppliers such as travel agents and hotels.
- Assist Payroll with relevant reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all records.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Salary: AED 8,000 per month (based on experience)
