Responsibilities
- Monitor, support, and maintain computer systems and financial trading platforms.
- Operate as part of the global support team, providing coverage across all sites and data centres.
- Develop and implement tools (bespoke and third-party) to automate key areas of software engineering and delivery.
- Support and maintain all trading applications, including developing automation tools for software engineering processes such as monitoring, continuous integration, testing, environment deployments, and releases.
- Manage service delivery in line with ITIL standards for incident and problem management.
- Collaborate with Development and QA teams to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.
- Coordinate application changes, patches, updates, and releases.
- Enhance monitoring tools for application availability and performance.
- Develop scripts to automate routine operational tasks.
- Support the support and service management framework, identifying and addressing gaps.
- Contribute to automation tools for backend infrastructure.
- Provide onsite and remote user support.
- Troubleshoot issues across applications from end to end.
- Participate in out-of-hours and on-call support as needed.
Experience
- Supporting Windows and Linux-based applications.
- Support experience with Windows and Linux servers in virtualised, cloud, and bare-metal environments.
- Scripting skills in Python (preferred), C++, C#, Java, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Puppet, Docker, Bamboo, Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitLab.
- Minimum of six years in user support and systems management in multicultural environments.
- Experience with low-latency, high-frequency trading infrastructure is a strong advantage.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and other database technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and support for Forex and Equity trading platforms is desirable.
- IT certifications such as ITIL Foundation, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP are highly desirable.
Skills
- Understanding of the FIX protocol in FX trading environments.
- Experience supporting client-facing SLAs within tiered support frameworks, preferably under ITIL standards.
- Proven experience with Azure and AWS platforms, including deployment, monitoring, and automation.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL, and financial network technologies.
- Familiarity with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, and MS SQL.
- Understanding of local and networked file systems such as NFS, DFS, NTFS, and DNS.
- Competency in systems tools and protocols including SNMP, ManageEngine, Nagios, and Zabbix.
