The Principal Construction Specialist interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex construction-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Principal Construction Specialist may be responsible for leading functional teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in construction. As such, they must have in-depth expertise in construction and broad knowledge of the construction discipline within the fabrication function.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Diploma
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a construction role, with a minimum of 5 years of international experience
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, materials, and building codes
Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage project constraints effectively
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute activities
Manage construction activities on a dedicated project and associated structures
Manage day-to-day through a team of subordinates
Chair and lead all construction planning meetings and progress reviews
Ensure the completion of required daily construction activities across all disciplines
Lead planning efforts for all of the construction
Maintain a high standard of safe working practice, quality, and productivity, as well as compliance with the Code of Business Conduct
