Senior Transport Planner

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

1. Provide line management and mentorship of junior members of the team ensuring the team’s work is regularly reviewed prior to submission.
2. Support preparation of technical and financial bids and engage in business development activity.
3. Assume the role of Project Manager on small / Transport Lead on medium-sized projects taking responsibility for the successful delivery.
4. Remain point of contact for clients, addressing needs and queries on assigned projects.
5. Manage project finances (including invoicing and contract/commercial management), tracking progress and budget on assigned projects ensuring commercial success.
6. Provide management and direction of sub-consultants on assigned projects.
7. Demonstrate the ability to use initiative to solve the majority of problems that could occur on a project.
8. Develop an understanding of Mott MacDonald methodologies and project management principles, and implement on live projects.
9. Skills in managing own time and the time of others, setting priorities for others in order to meet deadlines.
10. Assist with resource management for the team, ensuring projects are properly resourced and team members are sufficiently occupied.

Candidate specifications:

1. Bachelors in Transportation and Civil Engineering; an MSc in Transport Planning or in Civil Engineering would be highly advantageous.
2. Membership to a professional institution affiliated to the transport sector.
3. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with experience working on Abu Dhabi projects.
4. Highly competent in Synchro, HCS, and CUBE (STEAM) and/or VISSIM/VISUM.
5. A self-starter and the ability to work both alone and in teams resolving complex tasks.
6. Experience in making sound judgements on complex and sensitive issues.
7. Experience of managing multi-disciplinary proposals.
