A Day in the Life

In this position, you will be part of Medtronic Global Deliver Logistics function, reporting to the EMEA MEACAT Regional Director of Logistics Operations. You will lead the UAE operations for the Distribution Center (based in Dubai) and Domestic Transportation. As part of your role, you will ensure that the 3PLs meet their KPIs and SLAs, while proactively innovating ways to adapt to the rapid changes in the UAE Healthcare Market.

The role demands strong financial acumen, market knowledge, a process improvement mindset, and a strategic vision aligned with Medtronic's strategy. Additionally, it requires robust reporting capabilities, an analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and effective stakeholder engagement to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage Medtronic’s country logistics operations at strategic, tactical and operational levels
  • Monitor and review the performance and productivity of 3PL warehousing and transportation
  • Lead and support the selection, onboarding, and offboarding of logistics service providers for the Medtronic Logistics Program
  • Contribute to identifying, evaluating, and implementing improvement initiatives within the warehousing and transportation operations of 3PLs
  • Engage in high-level interaction and collaboration with internal functions, including Finance, Quality, Customer Service, Sales, and Supply Chain
  • Identify and implement changes in customer receipt procedures to enhance efficiency
  • Communicate with the Sales team and Customer Service to collaboratively resolve customer or delivery issues. Visit customer locations to address concerns and assess delivery challenges

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Over 5 years of experience in managing 3PL warehousing and transportation, with expertise in warehouse process design and optimization
  • Proficiency in SAP(WM), Microsoft Office and Power-BI
  • Strong data and analytics skills to drive informed decision making
  • Outstanding communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
  • Structured thinking and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Fluency in English
  • Self-motivated, resilient and capable of thriving under pressure

The ideal candidate should have work experience in the Medical Device or Pharma sectors, coupled with a strong background in Program and Project Management. Additionally, they should possess a deep understanding of local healthcare delivery processes and providers. An industrial/systems engineering background is essential, along with strong analytic thinking skills.
