GEMS Westminster School - Ras Al Khaimah WSR is a community that combines tradition and innovation in teaching and learning, enabling pupils to excel in all aspects of school life.

We offer the internationally recognized National Curriculum for England, preparing students for the IGCSE and A Level Examinations of the Universities of Cambridge and London (UK). Currently, the curriculum spans from Early Years Foundation Stage to Grade 12 and Pre-KG.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership and management to ensure the sustained improvement of the Foundation Stage.
  2. Support the leadership as a member of the extended Senior Leadership Team.
  3. Lead policies and practices for continuous school improvement and staff development within a specific Key Stage or Phase.
  4. Oversee the quality and standards of teaching and learning across the Key Stage, including analysis and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
  5. Stay updated with current developments in teaching, learning, and school improvement, sharing insights with staff.
  6. Formulate aims and objectives for the Key Stage and implement policies accordingly.
  7. Engage in curriculum planning, provide feedback, and support colleagues in delivering a differentiated curriculum.
  8. Lead the Key Stage team in delivering a creative and stimulating curriculum.
  9. Promote sharing of good practices and dialogue among staff regarding teaching and learning.
  10. Ensure assessment and moderation requirements are met.
  11. Provide appropriate support for pupils based on assessment data.
  12. Monitor and evaluate the impact of policies and practices, identifying areas for development.
  13. Focus on continuous improvement in curricular policy development.
  14. Support the strategic leadership of the school and foster leadership potential in others.
  15. Act as a role model of outstanding practice.
  16. Manage staff performance and professional development within the Key Stage.
  17. Develop relationships with parents and the wider community.
Skills and Qualifications
  1. Proven teaching experience with (I)GCSE and A Level.
  2. Track record of raising attainment and improving progress.
  3. Strong understanding of teaching, learning, and curriculum development.
  4. Minimum of two years’ experience as a middle or senior leader.
  5. Excellent communication and people management skills.
  6. Relevant degree and PGCE/QTS from a UK university.
