As a Payment Applications Director, you will be responsible for delivering and managing payment applications and capabilities, ensuring seamless delivery of new product functionalities for core payment systems, as well as digital payment solutions. You will work closely with issuers, acquirers, and network schemes, supporting them from onboarding to managing technical relationships in live production environments. Your role will encompass a wide range of delivery initiatives that involve implementing cutting-edge payment capabilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovation across the payments ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in payment applications and technologies, with expertise in EMV card schemes, payment solution architecture, and vendor management. Proficiency in VISA, MasterCard, Discover, CUP, Troy, Rupay, etc., technologies and processes is essential, along with a strong understanding of ISO 8583 and ISO 20022 standards. Knowledge of deployment strategies, security management, capacity management, and modern payment platforms such as FIS and ACI is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment Applications and Capabilities Delivery: Lead the delivery and operational management of payment applications and capabilities, including core payment schemes and digital solutions. Ensure new capabilities are seamlessly integrated into the existing ecosystem.
- Onboarding and Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance for issuers, acquirers, and network schemes, managing onboarding processes and establishing strong technical relationships throughout the product lifecycle, from initial setup to ongoing production environment support.
- Product Capability Delivery: Oversee the delivery of new product capabilities for core payment schemes and digital payment solutions, including features like instant payments (IPP), eCommerce solutions (eCOM), and 3D Secure (3DS).
- Payment Scheme Integration: Drive successful integration with new payment schemes, ensuring solutions meet industry standards and provide enhanced client functionality.
- Compliance and Industry Standards: Manage and ensure compliance with PCI DSS standards and other relevant regulations, maintaining secure payment systems that meet privacy and data protection standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, operations, and client services teams to ensure successful project execution from concept to launch and post-launch support. Leverage feedback and data-driven insights to improve products, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. Stay updated on industry trends to introduce innovative solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Technology, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications in payments or product management are a plus.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in payment applications, focusing on EMV card schemes and related technologies.
- Expertise in payment solution architecture, deployment strategies, and security management.
- Strong knowledge of VISA, MasterCard, and Discover technologies and processes.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 8583 and ISO 20022 standards.
- Experience with modern payment platforms such as FIS, ACI, or similar.
- Proven track record in payments product management, especially in core payment systems and digital solutions.
- Deep knowledge of payment systems including IPP, eCOM, and 3DS.
- Experience supporting issuers, acquirers, and network schemes through onboarding and technical relationship management.
