Job Summary.
Support the Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager in the development and implementation of the strategy outlined for the Mechanical Engineering Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Support the Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager in developing and implementing the strategy for the Mechanical Engineering Department.
- Review project design basis and specifications to ensure integrity in line with project requirements.
- Evaluate vendor offers, raise TQs, prepare technical bid evaluations, and review post-order vendor documents.
- Participate in the supplier tender process, including scope development, tender evaluation input, and clarification activities.
- Prepare deliverable lists & schedules, estimate man-hours, determine resource requirements, and report progress.
- Participate in design review and progress review meetings.
- Review, evaluate, and check design documents and drawings.
- Demonstrate strong communication, people management, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Maintain good interface knowledge with other disciplines, especially Process, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation, and understand all discipline documents and drawings.
- Review designs, plans, layouts, working drawings, and manage resources to ensure project execution within time and budget constraints.
- Closely monitor fast-track projects to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors to ramp up projects swiftly.
- Assign tasks to team leads and technical experts on abroad sites for technical support if needed.
- Gain exposure to equipment design calculations and FEA.
- Possess proven technical experience in Rotating Equipment Engineering, including seal selection, pump selection, NPSH verification, pump curve interpretation, and participation in FAT of pumps and compressors.
- Standardize design procedures, review checklists, and develop design guidelines.
- Hold a Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent from a recognized university.
- Have a minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering within the Oil and Gas industry (Upstream & Downstream), focusing on Rotating and Package Equipment.
- Possess good knowledge of Equipment Design (Rotary).
- Be familiar with international mechanical codes and standards such as ASME, API 610, API 674, API 675, API 676, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 672, etc., applicable to Rotary Equipment.
- Have proven technical experience in Rotating Equipment Engineering, including skills in seal selection, pump selection, NPSH verification, pump curve interpretation, and participation in FAT of pumps and compressors.
