Job description

Aeronautical Data Maintenance
Encode in AIXM and maintain UAE Aeronautical data in AIM Database.
Perform quality checks on the aeronautical data, in line with the ICAO SARPs and the Local AIM Instructions and Procedures.
Verify and validate the aeronautical data against the department s procedures.
Develop and Manage AIXM 5.1 business rules in order to support data integrity and accuracy

Database Administration
Perform routine database maintenance.
Propose database performance optimizations
Develop and execute database queries and prepare data exports as required by internal and external stakeholders

Procedure encoding
Verify and provide inputs for encoding procedure into the AIM database in line with ICAO and international standards.

Aeronautical Information Publication
Provide inputs to the aeronautical information publications with relevant information on changes made to the procedures and aeronautical data
Verify and provide inputs for the production of aeronautical charts.

Continuous support on enhancing AIM Department Systems the AIM Department
Propose technical and operational solutions to assure continuous systems improvements.
Adapt the internal database maintenance processes in accordance with the SWIM implementation

Verifying and Validating Procedures
Verifying and Validating procedures for various aspects of air navigation services

Compliance and Standardization
Ensuring that procedures adhere to international standards and regulations set forth by organizations like ICAO and national aviation authorities. This involves staying updated with changes in regulations and implementing necessary adjustments

Technical Expertise
Providing technical expertise in areas such as AIM Database, AIP System, Digital Charting System, NOTAM System, SWIM, workflow etc, flight planning software, airspace design tools, and communication systems. Senior Analysts may be responsible for evaluating new technologies and their potential impact on operational procedures.

Training and Support
Providing training and support to operational personnel, including air traffic controllers, pilots, and aviation authorities, regarding the implementation and use of New system. This may involve developing training materials, conducting workshops, and responding to inquiries.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
Recommend improvements to departmental policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls so that all relevant regulatory requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, service to customers
Adapt and create data collection and management processes towards digital AIM products and services;
Develop, document and update, when necessary, the AIM database encoding specifications in line with ICAO SARPs and industry requirements

Continuous Improvement
Participating in ongoing reviews and evaluations of existing procedures to identify areas for improvement. This may involve soliciting feedback from users, conducting operational studies, and incorporating best practices from within the industry

Reporting
Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards
Manage the preparation of the required documents (briefings) summarizing technical discussions at international events or ICAO working group/panel
Provide impact analysis on amendments to ICAO SARPs relevant to AIM Data and other department activity.

Project Management
Carry out overall Project Management roles and responsibilities for relevant AIM system-related projects as assigned by the line manager to ensure AIM systems enhancement and modernization.

Health, Safety and Environment within GCAA
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards.

Other Tasks/ Accountability
Perform additional tasks relevant to the role / area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.

Knowledge and Experience:

University degree in engineering / computer sciences
Minimum 7 years of work experience in a database / data management field and at least 5 years of experience in a civil aviation domain
Qualification and proven experience in database management or database administration
Experience in XML and familiarity with XML editing
Knowledge and proven experience of AIXM 5.1
Instrument procedure design (PANS-OPS) and / or ARINC 424 coding experience would constitute an advantage
Experience in data modelling would constitute an advantage
