Job Description

The Role

  • Oversee the Recreation operations and facilities of the hotel.
  • Think entrepreneurially and beyond boundaries.
  • Provide sincere, warm, and enthusiastic service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Get to know guests and commit to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Organizing:

  • Coordinate purchasing for the Spa & gym with the finance team according to hotel procedures.
  • Plan gym activities and classes; communicate with members and guests.
  • Conduct interviews and prepare job descriptions with HR.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and budgets.
  • Review work schedules and payroll.
  • Perform competitor analysis and recommend improvements.
  • Work with marketing to meet membership sales targets.

Operational

  • Train and develop the recreation team.
  • Improve recreation operations and seek efficiency through productivity and energy savings.
  • Lead and support employees to achieve financial, operational, and service goals.
  • Foster a positive, solution-oriented work environment.
  • Lead daily briefings and monthly meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with fire, hygiene, health, and safety policies.
  • Manage performance appraisals and coaching.
  • Promote sales within the team to maximize revenue.
  • Ensure team awareness of revenue and membership targets.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and assist them professionally.
  • Maintain grooming standards.
  • Review guest feedback and implement improvements.
  • Know all products and services offered.
  • Participate in guest events as needed.
  • Check duty shift checklists for task completion.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping for cleanliness and towel availability.
  • Provide personal training programs and tips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Financial

  • Ensure correct collection of payments from guests.

Administration

  • Work with Finance to produce accurate monthly reports.
  • Maintain member records and database.
  • Process membership payments accurately and promptly.
  • Familiarize potential members with gym facilities.
  • Prepare gym membership cards.
  • Review staff schedules and leave plans to optimize resources.
  • Implement and monitor training plans for team development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Spa Supervisor or similar role.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
