Job description

Job Purpose:

The provision of complex cross-asset class active Investment Advisory (IA) services directly to select clients of the Private Banking and Key Client Group segments. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Working on a day-to-day basis directly with clients to advise them on the management of their investment portfolios in line with their stated goals and investment objectives.
  2. The generation of investment ideas tailored to market trends, customer profile, and FAB investment views, and delivering those ideas to clients in a suitable and appropriate manner.
  3. Robust and detailed portfolio management and follow-up of IA mandates in adherence with the Bank's policies & procedures.
  4. The performance of day-to-day risk management/monitoring of IA mandates.

Partner with Relationship Managers in the acquisition and retention of new IA mandates. This includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Pitched IA services directly to select clients of the Private Banking and Key Clients Group.
  2. Daily interaction with clients on their portfolios and resolving client-related issues in the management of their investment assets.
  3. Taking a holistic view of the overall investment relationship across Advisory, Discretionary, and Portfolio Management.
  4. Participating in publishing/maintaining Focus Lists on equities, fixed income, and managed investments.
  5. Managing IAMandates by ensuring portfolios are tailored to clients' risk profiles and objectives, and communicating deviations.
  6. Following relevant processes when marketing investment solutions and respecting policies.
  7. Processing client instructions from idea sharing to trade booking.
  8. Actively managing risk and investment performance, suggesting portfolio adjustments as needed.
  9. Recommending portfolio rebalancing when appropriate.
  10. Maintaining up-to-date records of investment proposals and portfolio reviews.
  11. Implementing portfolio strategies by selecting appropriate investment products from the Focus List.
  12. Maximizing portfolio performance in line with clients' investment objectives and profiles.
  13. Proactively partnering with Relationship Managers in business development activities, including client pitches, portfolio advice, and resolving investment issues.
  14. Promoting investment opportunities across asset classes aligned with FAB investment views and tactical allocation, while monitoring client investments.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of financial markets and tools.
  • Deep understanding of the global economy, capital markets, equity and fixed income analysis, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management, with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of investment business, asset classes, fund structures, and investment processes.
  • Experience in product sourcing and management within the investment industry.
  • Experience across various asset classes.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; Master's Degree or industry qualification preferred.
  • SCACertified.
  • CPA/CFA or equivalent is an advantage.
