Job Title: Research Associate at NYU Abu Dhabi - Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED)

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking to recruit a research associate to join a new initiative focused on designing and developing novel medical devices for human use.

The successful candidate will perform both wet lab and bioinformatics analyses. Responsibilities include:

1. Performing rodent cranial surgeries to label neural circuits
2. Recording electrophysiology in brain organoids
3. Analyzing bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data to profile gene expression in brain and organoid tissues

Our multidisciplinary environment offers extensive training and academic freedom across various high-impact projects. The candidate will collaborate with PhD-level scientists, graduate, and undergraduate students, gaining skills in manuscript and grant writing, mentoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Neuroscience, or related field
• Over 2 years of research technician experience in a laboratory setting

Preferred expertise:

• Molecular biology, neurobiology, or neuroscience experience
• Experience with bulk and single-cell sequencing
• Single-cell data analysis
• Rodent behavioral experiments and stereotaxic surgeries

Additional preferred skills include knowledge of R, behavioral analysis software, general lab skills, animal handling, and electrophysiology training.
