Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Structural Engineer to join our team based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

We envisage success in this role to include:

  1. Supporting the engineering team in the preparation of scopes of work, specifications, and drawings for civil/structural discipline work packages primarily related to industrial, commercial, and infrastructure works.
  2. Attending project kick-off meetings.
  3. Developing the design development plan and design interfaces.
  4. Coordinating with other functions within the project team to ensure deliverables are aligned.
  5. Attending page turn reviews for all work packages.
  6. Supporting Project Management during the tender period (e.g., responding to bidder queries, revising engineering deliverables).
  7. Participating in technical evaluations.
  8. Managing the progress of design deliverables to enable the commencement of construction.
  9. Managing all engineering/technical issues arising during project execution.
  10. Attending periodic progress review meetings internally and with contractors and consultants to ensure engineering requirements are being met.
  11. Monthly assessment of engineering deliverables status.
  12. Supporting review of shop drawings, RFIs, and issuance of site instructions as required.
  13. Identifying updates to engineering standards and lessons learned based on project execution.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have at least 10 years of work experience and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Experience working within an engineering team on the design development of construction projects, whether as a client or contractor, with specific experience in developing scopes, concept design, and engineering support, is essential.
