Job description

Position: Shift Leader

Duration: 1 Year Contract

Salary: 3,500 to 3,700 AED

Working Days: 6 days a week

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and ensure smooth operation of the assigned area, leading the team effectively.
  2. Provide direction and feedback to staff during shifts.
  3. Schedule employee shifts and assign duties in the absence of the Supervisor.
  4. Train housekeepers (regular and ad-hoc) and coach new admissions.
  5. Conduct proper briefings as necessary, ensuring hygiene and grooming standards are maintained daily.
  6. Manage equipment, machines, and tools; communicate repair or replacement needs to supervisors.
  7. Ensure health and safety standards are followed.
  8. Handle customer and employee complaints tactfully and patiently.
  9. Resolve staff conflicts and report to the duty supervisor.
  10. Stock and replenish guest and cleaning supplies in assigned areas.
  11. Assist the Line Manager with housekeeping activities in the absence of the supervisor.
  12. Support the duty supervisor in achieving departmental objectives and guidelines.
  13. Ensure guest satisfaction and build positive relationships.
  14. Ensure preventive maintenance cleaning schedules are followed as per contract.
  15. Conduct spot checks on occupied apartments to maintain cleanliness quality.
  16. Provide suggestions, comments, or grievances to supervisors.
  17. Update incident and accident reports and coordinate with supervisors.
  18. Take over housekeeping or supervisory responsibilities as needed in their absence.
  19. Prepare trouble reports and coordinate maintenance works for service improvements.
  20. Assign daily restrooms and deep cleaning tasks to team members.
  21. Inspect restrooms regularly to meet DWTC standards.
  22. Prepare daily lists for chemical and tool shortages and submit to the duty supervisor for procurement.
  23. Support housekeeping administration as required.
