Job description

As a Senior Accountant, you will support processes necessary to manage the major units within the Finance departments of EK Revenue Services, Group Accounts Payable Services, Group Payroll Services, Group Financial Reporting Assurance and Taxation (GFR A&T), and Master Management, Group Revenue & Customer Services, and Regional Finance Office.

The focus areas include analyzing risks and internal controls related to revenue, credit cards, indirect taxes, master management, supplier and employee disbursements; identifying solutions; mitigating risks; ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial accounting through GL review and reconciliation; complying with Group Policies and Procedures; Revenue/Yield reporting; Commercial Systems; facilitating tax compliance; delivering services to internal and external customers; reviewing key processes; and recommending measures to enhance efficiency and optimize costs.

Responsibilities also involve managing a team of supervisors, overseeing performance, productivity, and effectiveness in cash management and Customer Services (including Non-airport and Airport areas), and driving improvements via training, change management, and system automation initiatives. You will collaborate with other business areas, such as Passenger Services and other Finance departments, on projects to enhance Customer Service effectiveness.

In this role, you will:

  1. Perform process reviews and risk assessments to identify discrepancies, revenue leakages, and compile data for KPIs and reports for Senior Management.
  2. Maintain reconciliation standards, review reconciliation functions, follow up on open items, investigate variances, and liaise with stakeholders for resolution.
  3. Explore process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities, escalating anomalies and providing recommendations to Senior Management.
  4. Assist auditors, coordinate with the Finance Controller, and handle queries related to quality controls and procedures.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate interpretation and updating of relevant information.
  6. Analyze data trends and escalate significant findings related to yield dilution or revenue leakage for corrective action.
  7. Manage, motivate, and develop the team to ensure high accuracy and productivity, meeting KPIs cost-effectively.
  8. Perform User Acceptance Testing for Finance systems to ensure requirements are met.

Specific to Revenue Invoicing Services

EK Engineering & Other HO

  • Supervise end-to-end processing and accounting of EK Engineering and other Head Office billings, ensuring revenue streams are accurately recognized and processed efficiently, with adherence to ISO standards.
  • Review and authorize financial documents, ensuring correctness and completeness.

  • Manage revenue protection for dnata's lines of business by verifying billings against contracts, resolving discrepancies, and supervising revenue-related transactions to ensure timely and accurate processing. Maintain document flow and archiving as per policies. Support fortnightly and monthly account receivable closings and provide MIS reports for decision-making.
