Job description

As a Simulator Technician, you will carry out preventive maintenance, repair, and inspection tasks on Emirates training simulators and associated training equipment working under the direction of the Engineer Flight Simulators. You will perform daily maintenance checks on all training devices, support visual calibration checks and setups, and undertake complex technical tasks under supervision. Your role ensures that Flight Training equipment is fully serviceable and maintained to manufacturers' specifications.

In This role, You will:
  1. Carry out routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks as prescribed by the flight simulator manufacturer, maintaining records in accordance with the approved Quality Plan.
  2. Perform daily maintenance checks on flight simulators to verify system operation, maintaining records as required by Regulatory Authorities. This includes technical familiarization with simulator systems, minor repairs, and documenting actions taken.
  3. Conduct weekly corrective maintenance on simulator visual systems to ensure effective maintenance per manufacturers' recommendations.
  4. Ensure cabin training simulators and all cabin equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
  5. Perform repair tasks on flight and cabin training simulators, proposing optimal solutions in liaison with other departments and external contractors.
  6. Implement configuration changes on flight simulators following established procedures, resolving faults or reporting complex issues to the Engineer.
  7. Assist Engineers in fault rectification and overhaul of devices, requiring electro-mechanical engineering principles and skills.
  8. Accurately log simulator training usage and defect details for reference by Flight crew and Engineers.
Qualifications:
  • Vocational or Diploma (12+2 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Flight Operations or a civil aircraft-engineering environment, including at least two years of on-the-job training in an airline or approved aircraft maintenance organization, or 3 years in a technical/maintenance capacity within a civil engineering organization.
  • Safety-sensitive role involving hazards such as working at height, exposure to hazardous energy systems, confined spaces, hazardous materials, heavy lifting, noisy environments.
