ROLE SUMMARY

  • Leads, manages, and coaches the Immunology sales team across the Gulf region.
  • Responsible for driving the execution of brand strategy and priorities. Develops and executes tailored account plans to achieve our goals.
  • This position is based in the UAE and reports to the Franchise Head GCC.

What you'll do

Sales Management

  • Lead the sales team to meet or exceed sales forecasts and call execution goals.
  • Break down sales targets and resource budgets based on corporate objectives, ensuring resources are allocated to high-potential territories, and monitor performance accordingly.
  • Work with team members to establish appropriate and challenging goals for each territory or account.
  • Regularly review team achievements against targets and initiate actions to align performance with company objectives.
  • Lead the team to provide accurate monthly forecasts in collaboration with the Sales Operations team and country managers, with close monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations regarding interactions with healthcare professionals, sample distribution, etc.
  • Make informed business decisions by analyzing risks and coaching team members on effective tradeoff decisions for maximum return.

People Coaching & Development

  • Communicate the company's vision, tactics, and objectives clearly to the sales force.
  • Discuss career development with team members, managing expectations, and clarifying growth potential and required actions.
  • Assess individual and team progress toward goals, coach for improvement, and recognize strong performance.
  • Ensure recruitment and training guidelines are in place, identifying necessary competencies and delivering relevant training.
  • Implement and promote a performance management culture, setting and monitoring measurable objectives.
  • Identify and retain key talents, and manage underperformers appropriately.
  • Conduct semiannual performance reviews and regular check-ins with team members.
  • Develop strategies to motivate the team and retain talent.

Business Planning and Strategy Development

  • Collaborate with marketing to conduct SWOT analyses, identify opportunities, and develop plans with cross-functional teams, including field tactics.
  • Monitor business plans for appropriateness and implementation.
  • Proactively address opportunities and obstacles, aligning plans with leadership.
  • Work with the Medical Affairs Lead to develop acceleration plans for AZ products' access.
  • Leverage Key External Experts (KEEs) relationships to gather market intelligence for formulary enlisting.
  • Manage AZ products across sectors to ensure supply and availability in all accounts, including PVT, INS, and MOH sectors.
  • Oversee public sector tenders, working with tender and supply teams to secure business and patient access.

Customer Focus and Service

  • Maintain a customer database, profiling clients for business potential.
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts and customers.
  • Engage with KEEs and influential decision-makers in hospitals and institutions.
  • Ensure team compliance with AZ Code of Conduct.

Reporting & Administration

  • Submit monthly reports commenting on deviations and planned actions.
  • Monitor team expenses, ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Review reports regularly to ensure relevance and action implementation.
  • Discuss performance with the Franchise Head, identifying gaps and opportunities with clear plans of action.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Maintain highest ethical standards, adhering to the AZ Code of Ethics and local laws.
  • Report health, environment, or safety incidents and conflicts of interest promptly.

Location

Only applications based in UAE will be considered.

Essential for the role

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep understanding of UAE market dynamics (preferred).

For External candidates

  • Experience with specialty or biologic brands is required.
  • At least 3 years in people management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
  • Proven track record of achievements and project management skills.

Desirable for the role

  • Experience with immunology or biologics products.
  • Experience in Gulf markets.
  • Ability to manage complex environments and therapy areas.
