About the business area

The Retail Banking Group (RBG) supports retail and micro-business customers in managing their finances, through expert advice and the provision of a full suite of specialist products and services in conventional and Shari’ah compliant banking. The business is committed to driving digital innovation to deliver excellence in customer service. We are actively seeking an ambitious professional to join our Retail Banking team at ADCB to work alongside passionate colleagues who share your ambition to redefine excellence in UAE banking.

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Business and Financial Planning: Develop and implement portfolio strategy, track portfolio profit and loss variances and recommend corrective strategies that drive card activation, card spends, usage, revolve, retention of outstanding balances and building market share in order to deliver a robust portfolio growth across all card variants
  • Portfolio Management: Develop and implement advanced decision sciences and predictive models in order to manage and influence customer behavior and maximize the profitability of the Credit Card portfolio. Design and manage installment payment plans, collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote installment products and achieve sales targets. Propose and execute campaigns in order to enhance organic and inorganic spends /decrease days to first spend /increase revolve /decrease inactive cards / increase card delivery rates/ and reduce attrition. Monitor and control the product mix, portfolio composition, usage patterns and behavior, cost of funds and yields to ensure in accordance with business objectives
  • Marketing Management: Formulate marketing strategies and develop marketing activities in order to deliver cards portfolio targets. Administer and monitor marketing programs in order to improve portfolio campaign conversions and revenues
  • Partner Relationship Management: Conduct regular meetings in order to explore and seek opportunities to enhance value proposition to customers and ensure reports are submitted within agreed timeframes
  • Budget Management: Contribute to the preparation of the business area’s budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon
  • Stakeholder management: Work closely with risk management, compliance, marketing and IT departments to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
  • Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures: Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank’s required levels of service in all internal and external customer interactions

The ideal candidate should have the following experience

  • At least 6 years of experience in banking/financial institution in portfolio management
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a well-recognized university in Finance, Business or Economics
  • Numerical and financial analysis skills
  • Excel, Word and Microsoft (MS) Office skills
  • Written and spoken English/Arabic
