A leading company in the Oil & Gas sector is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide comprehensive support for desktop and laptop systems, manage software installations, and assist users with technical issues. This full-time role requires on-site presence in Ruwais, ensuring adherence to IT infrastructure policies and effective communication with users.

Job description

• Provide hands-on support for desktop/laptop hardware, network printers, and standard software.
• Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows operating systems, Antivirus and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)
• Respond to service issues and requests by logging and closing tickets in a ticketing tool.
• Set up and support computer systems, including Microsoft Active Directory and VPN configurations.
• Set up accounts for new users and manage existing accounts.
• Maintain records of software licenses and manage stocks of equipment, and other supplies.
• Conduct required IT training to end users, developing training materials as required
• Participate in IT projects when required; not restricting to Infrastructure activities only
• Ensure proper IT infrastructure policies, standards, procedures and risk controls are followed during issues resolution
• Assist with network-related issues and provide basic networking support.
• Assist IT Infrastructure Manager to monitor all outsource infrastructure vendors performance against agreed SOW and SLA

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of relevant working experience supporting computer users.
• In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking systems.
• Hands-on experience in supporting desktop/laptop hardware, network printer, Microsoft Windows, and standard software (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook client, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Computer setup, Microsoft Active Directory, VPN setup/troubleshooting
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Positive attitude and the ability to work well with culturally and geographically diverse teams.
• Good knowledge of networking is an added advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in ruwais for 6 days a week.
