Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Piping Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the design and execution of a large-scale onshore oil and gas project in the Middle East. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of piping engineering design, specifications, material selection, and layout development in accordance with international codes and client requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and review piping system designs, layouts, isometrics, and 3D models for onshore oil and gas facilities.
• Prepare piping material specifications, data sheets, and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and electrical engineering teams to ensure piping system integration.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASTM), and applicable codes.
• Support technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews, and interface with procurement and construction teams.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and model reviews.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, construction, and pre-commissioning stages.
• Identify and resolve piping design and engineering issues throughout project lifecycle.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of piping engineering experience, specifically in the onshore oil and gas sector.
• Proven experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases of major projects in the Middle East.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard piping design software such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D, PDMS, or CAESAR II.
• In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, B31.4, API, ASTM).
• Familiarity with piping stress analysis and support design.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience working with major EPCs or operators in the Middle East region.
• Previous site exposure or field engineering experience is a plus.
• PMP certification or similar project management training is advantageous.
