Job description

Job Purpose
Lead and monitor the development, maintenance, oversight, and inter-unit integration of various engineering programs supporting the operation of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP), including component and asset programs.

Key Activities, Responsibilities & Accountability
  1. Engineering Program Development
    Responsibilities include reviewing and validating long-term plans, policies, processes, and procedures related to equipment performance management at BNPP; leading the development of engineering programs and ensuring they meet regulatory and operational requirements; and allocating resources to support these programs.
  2. Engineering Program Maintenance
    Lead the assessment and integration of internal and external operating experiences (OPEX) to improve programs and support safety; develop and maintain databases and tools related to engineering programs.
  3. Plant Engineering Programs Oversight
    Oversee the execution of engineering programs to ensure compliance with requirements; verify baseline data accuracy; supervise external suppliers involved in program execution.
  4. Inter-Units Integration
    Lead the integration of engineering program results across all BNPP units for comprehensive analysis.
  5. Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
    Support outage and ERO activities to ensure safe and reliable operations, including shift work or off-hours support.
  6. Staff Training and Qualification
    Participate in training to develop necessary skills; provide feedback to improve training programs.
  7. Operational Planning
    Contribute to the development of departmental systems and processes; develop and implement procedures; monitor operational and financial KPIs; ensure timely and accurate reporting.

The candidate is expected to perform activities related to Health, Safety, Environment, Security, Business Continuity, People Management, and Quality Management as per attachments 4 & 5 in the Job Description procedure.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Science.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a nuclear power plant engineering environment.
  • Alternatively, 8 years of relevant experience with pressurized water reactor (PWR) nuclear engineering experience.
