Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Rock Drilling Maintenance Specialist on behalf of a market-leading company in rock drilling and heavy equipment, with deep hands-on expertise in FRD machinery. The successful candidate will join their growing team to oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and optimization of rock drilling equipment used in mining, construction, and quarrying operations across the UAE. In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in rock drilling rigs and tools is essential.

Job Summary:

As a Rock Drilling Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing drilling equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of rock drilling machines (DTH, Top Hammer, Rotary Drills). Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical faults. Maintain and repair drilling consumables and attachments. Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics.
  2. Equipment Optimization: Monitor performance, implement improvements, support operational teams, and provide feedback to OEMs for product enhancement.
  3. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain logs, prepare technical reports, and manage work orders using CMMS.
  4. Safety & Compliance: Ensure all activities meet HSE standards, participate in risk assessments, and train junior staff.
  5. Coordination & Support: Liaise with OEMs and suppliers, coordinate with operations for maintenance scheduling, and support commissioning of new equipment.
Desired Candidate Profile:

Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering. Certifications in drilling equipment maintenance are advantageous.

Experience: 5-8 years in rock drilling equipment maintenance, with hands-on experience with brands like Sandvik, Epiroc (Atlas Copco), Furukawa, or Tamrock. Experience in harsh environments is a plus.

Skills: Strong diagnostic skills, ability to read schematics, familiarity with maintenance systems, and basic welding/fabrication knowledge.

Languages: Proficiency in English; Arabic or Hindi/Urdu is a plus.
