Job description

ApplyBoard is looking for a seasoned Director of Sales who will be responsible for leading the Sales Managers and Sales Team, growing existing markets, and expanding into new markets through strategy and collaboration. The role involves working closely with sales, sales operations, and marketing to ensure strategic alignment across these functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, experienced in defining and managing similar initiatives, and capable of building and leading high-impact teams in a dynamic environment.

The Director of Sales will report directly to the Sr. Director and indirectly to the CRO. They will collaborate with sales, sales operations, marketing, global leadership, learning, and talent development teams. The candidate should have demonstrated experience in managing high-output teams, supporting sales methodology, and understanding the sales cycle and tools. Industry experience is not mandatory but preferred, along with the ability to quickly learn the specifics of the industry.

Note: This is a remote opportunity open to candidates based in Africa or the MENA Region.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the creation and deployment of training, sales messaging, processes, and practices to support sales and partnership teams.
  2. Develop the sales vision, principles, strategy, and performance goals aligned with ApplyBoard’s objectives.
  3. Support product launches by enabling sales teams to understand and sell ApplyBoard’s solutions.
  4. Attract, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing sales team.
  5. Manage foundational and ongoing sales learning programs, including content creation and delivery.
  6. Support sales processes at all stages and establish effective management and coaching practices.
  7. Partner with leadership to develop and execute leadership practices and a sales coaching culture.
  8. Manage sales projects and coordinate activities.
  9. Enable sales teams to train external end-users through content and messaging.
  10. Track and analyze sales training and content usage metrics.
Qualifications:
  1. Previous experience as a Senior Leader / Director of Sales in a high-growth environment, preferably in technology or education sectors.
  2. 7+ years of sales learning leadership experience with increasing responsibilities.
  3. Experience in designing and evaluating training effectiveness and impact metrics.
  4. Knowledge of sales tools, instructional design, and learning management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Workday Learning, Zunos, Articulate).
  5. Strong relationship management and influencing skills.
  6. Ability to impact a product that positively affects thousands of students daily.
  7. Experience working with a diverse, global team in a fast-growing environment.
