Job description

Connect Energy is looking for an UNDERGROUND CIVIL WORK SUPERVISOR to work in Fujiarah for an oil and gas project.

Responsibilities

• Remain informed about the design progress, issues and updates through on site design progress meetings
• Attend meetings, coordination meetings with Engineering resources in charge of Design reviews (HSE plans, MethodStatement, schedule , Variation requests)
• Review, comment and approve Contractors' construction procedures, specifications, method statements and fabrication drawings.
• Review and comment on all matters related to construction engineering
• Review and comment on Contractors construction organization, co-ordination procedures, manpower plans and schedules
• Monitor the allocation of construction resources in consideration of relative priorities to meet the construction program, and recommend to the Client and appropriate corrective action where shortage of resources might prejudice the program.
• Monitor the planned and actual delivery of equipment and material to the Site and the handling, storage, maintenance and installation of such equipment and materials.
• Supervise construction activities: excavation (Using Drill and Blast and mechanical methods), installation or rock support (NATM using rock bolts and shotcrete, possibly steel arches), rock mass grouting works, concrete plugs, pacing works etc.
• Monitor and review quantities actually installed by Contractor for rock support and rock mass grouting.
  
• Review and supervise of geotechnical, hydrogeological, vibration and settlement monitoring works during construction phase.
• Review and supervise inspection in Caverns and water curtain galleries related to cleaning and final check on rock support, according to relevant contractual specifications
• Supervise water curtain system implementation
• Monitor and co-ordinate the corrective actions and recommendations for the construction work performed by the Contractor or its sub-contractor and verify that EPC works and corrective works are performed in compliance with the EPC Contract and Company's HSE requirements
• Assist the ConstructionManager during pre-commissioning activities by monitoring activities and checking compliance with established procedures.

Requirements

• To perform the tasks, this role will spend most of the time underground, check and monitoring contractor's activities such as drilling and blasting, mucking out, rock support installation, grouting works, water curtain boreholes drilling.
