JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer to join its UAE business unit with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

This is a full-time onsite position in Dubai, UAE, with travel requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery of quality services that meet client requirements and comply with relevant international/national codes and standards.
  • Adhere to the company management system and ensure all services and products are procured and inspected accordingly.
  • Mentor and coach colleagues on quality aspects to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Engage with all levels of relevant business and client organizations.
  • Manage management system inductions for the project.
  • Address customer queries related to quality documentation.
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products from vendors.
  • Prepare, review, and approve Quality Assurance Plans, Material Test Reports, and Product Testing Reports.
  • Promote quality awareness and review working practices to enhance performance.
  • Conduct and oversee quality audits in accordance with the audit program.
  • Support root cause analysis of nonconformities and participate in management reviews.
  • Attend project meetings to provide QA/QC input and review inspection and testing requirements.
  • Review and approve product/material requisitions, vendor documents, and inspection reports.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and review associated reports.
  • Support project close-out by ensuring all quality requirements are met.
  • Report on quality metrics and track NCRs and corrective actions.
  • Support quality system documentation, deployment, and compliance with legislation.
  • Develop and execute contract quality programs aligned with project plans.
  • Monitor KPIs for engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Facilitate incident investigations and participate in lessons learned sessions.
  • Review and approve technical documents, inspection and test plans, and work packs.
  • Coordinate inspection activities and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Interface with verification authorities and manage recall processes for defective materials.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • NDE Level II certification (desirable).
  • Membership in CQI or relevant industry body (desirable).
  • Familiarity with international codes & standards applicable during engineering and procurement phases.
  • Minimum 10 years in a QA/QC role within an EPC company involved in major oil/gas projects.
  • Experience in the Middle East preferred.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with systematic thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multicultural environments.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
