Job Description

In this role, you will:

  1. Manage procurement for contract renewals and new contracts by assessing commercial risks, proposing mitigation plans, and participating in negotiations. Analyse price quotes, summarise key points, and review commercial clauses, considering operational, financial, and governance aspects. Maintain a monitored contract list for timely renewals, ensuring robust support for all services through contracts.
  2. Facilitate and endorse new student training contracts, ensuring precise fee details and milestone payment structures. Communicate with students to clarify payment procedures. Work with the Training department to create an evaluation process for graduates, addressing the impact of graduation delays on costs. Implement solutions, compensation measures, and assess cost implications for dropouts.
  3. Coordinate with department managers and the Finance department to ensure accurate billing for Training and revenue activities based on contract terms. Address and resolve billing queries promptly, aiming for timely settlements. Follow up with students for overdue payments, address any shortfalls with customers, and monitor bad debts to mitigate financial risks.
  4. Provide commercial support and analysis for EFTA management decisions on significant projects and spending, collaborating with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Provide operational support for shop sales, cashiering, banking, and inventory management. Determine retail pricing for merchandise items.
  5. Ensure timely approval of all service invoices, maintaining strict adherence to service and financial controls. Regularly update business leads on invoice settlement and payment status to prevent service disruptions. Engage with suppliers to address queries and facilitate prompt resolution.
  6. Collaborate with business leads to compile essential commercial data for business case preparation regarding new capability development and capital expenditure for EFTA. Explore business opportunities through industry research, identifying innovative technologies or methods to enhance cost optimisation and revenue generation for the Academy.
  7. Maintain regular communication with the FP&A team to ensure alignment of finance processes and procedures with group corporate policies and governance standards, particularly concerning invoice payments and revenue invoicing, and ensure proper documentation. Regularly review and benchmark implemented processes to measure and improve effectiveness, incorporating internal controls and reporting mechanisms as necessary.
  8. Compile and consolidate monthly operational statistics, including training completion, aircraft flying hours, fuel consumption, and other relevant metrics for different sections of the Academy. Generate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards to provide EFTA management with a comprehensive view of performance indices for relevant managers. Collaborate with the FP&A team as needed to finalise the reports.
Qualifications

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Have a Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
  • Have 5+ years of experience in Finance & Insurance or Management Accounting.
  • Have a degree in Finance or Economics or Business with experience in Commercial Analysis, Finance, and Management Accounting.
  • Have expertise in commercial aspects related to business development.
  • Have a strong understanding of contracts and proven experience in interpreting contract clauses.
  • Have experience in the Finance and Cost analysis function of a large multinational company, preferably an airline / Engineering MRO with a strong emphasis on commercial analysis.
