The Role
The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of Onshore QC Engineers and Designers for large-scale Oil & Gas projects. This office-based role demands expertise in mechanical quality control, specifically in static and rotating equipment, coupled with a strong procurement background, ensuring seamless execution, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to project specifications.

Key Objectives
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of static and rotating mechanical systems, ensuring timely, cost-effective project execution while integrating procurement quality management.
- Develop detailed specifications, select appropriate mechanical components, and ensure compliance with industry standards, procurement guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Provide technical leadership to the engineering team, conducting reviews and evaluations to ensure mechanical system reliability, efficiency, and procurement best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, procurement specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration and quality control in mechanical engineering and procurement workflows.
- Lead testing and commissioning plans for mechanical systems, ensuring proper calibration, procurement quality assurance, and optimal functionality of equipment.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- 13+ years of experience in Procurement Quality Management, specializing in Mechanical Quality Control for Static and Rotating Equipment within Piping, Structural, and Pipeline systems.
- Lead vendor and subcontractor selection and approval, ensuring compliance with mechanical quality standards and procurement best practices.
- Oversee procurement quality management, ensuring alignment with industry standards, project specifications, and supplier evaluation protocols.
- Develop and implement inspection & testing plans, ensuring thorough quality assessments for mechanical components and systems.
- Conduct criticality rating assessments to optimize procurement strategies for static and rotating mechanical equipment.
- Supervise vendor/subcontractor inspections, audits, and non-conformance (NC) resolution, maintaining strict adherence to mechanical QC protocols.
- Define and monitor Procurement Quality Objectives & KPIs, driving continuous improvement in QC and procurement efficiency.
- Evaluate vendor & subcontractor performance, leveraging detailed analysis and assessments for procurement-driven decision-making.
Leadership Skills:
- Lead and mentor a team of QC engineers and designers, serving as the primary point of contact for all mechanical QC matters in static and rotating equipment, ensuring alignment with procurement quality control processes.
- Identify technical issues, assess multiple solutions, and provide expert recommendations through technical queries and deviations, maintaining compliance with procurement and quality standards.
- Delegate tasks efficiently, provide clear guidance, and ensure effective project execution aligned with mechanical QC and procurement requirements.
- Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and QC deliverable monitoring in procurement-driven workflows.
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, construction personnel, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve integrated and optimized design solutions for static and rotating equipment.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all deliverables with mechanical quality standards, specifications, and procurement guidelines.
- Exhibit strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, alongside analytical expertise and initiative-driven capabilities in procurement quality control.
- Motivate, coach, and inspire teams independently, fostering engineering competence, team synergy, and a culture of ownership and responsibility within procurement-related QC operations.
- Deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely QC engineering solutions, ensuring technical excellence and reliability in procurement-driven mechanical QC processes.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements.
- Manage interface meetings with Clients and Vendors to progress design scopes.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all Instrumentation and Control activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the engineering team and across the project site.
- Actively participate in project workshops/reviews such as Design/P&ID/HAZID/HAZOP/SIL/ALARP Reviews, 3D Model Reviews, Constructability, and SIMOPS reviews.
Skills And Qualifications
Expected:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 13+ years of experience in Oil & Gas project design, spanning Conceptual to Detailed Design stages.
- 5+ years in a Senior Engineer position, leading major Greenfield/Brownfield FEED/Detailed Design projects.
- Extensive expertise in procurement quality management, including vendor selection, technical bid evaluation, and material compliance for static and rotating equipment.
- Strong background in control system design, including instrumentation and control equipment selection, control loop development, field instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, actuators), and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus).
- Experience in leading and managing teams of 50+ engineers and designers, ensuring procurement-driven quality control and efficiency.
