About The Role

We are looking for an Associate Buyer - Menswear for our multi-luxury department store. The role involves planning, directing, and controlling the area's sales through purchasing high-quality merchandise at advantageous prices to meet merchandising standards, sales, and profit objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

Functional Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain the return of faulty merchandise to the supplier with the correct red debit to ensure the department receives a credit. Ensure all samples are returned to the supplier when no longer required.
2. Enter orders into the system after the buyers return from buying trips, ensuring minimal discrepancies.
3. Visit the warehouse regularly to resolve shipment discrepancies and liaise with suppliers regarding any variances or damages for immediate corrective action.
4. Maintain communication with suppliers to facilitate efficient ordering, delivery, and payment of merchandise, reducing queries and problems.
5. Assist the Buyer in researching and selecting the best quality merchandise suppliers domestically and internationally at the best prices to maximize sales and profit margins. Control merchandise selection within the agreed markdowns and stock levels.
6. Place re-orders in consultation with buyers and communicate relevant information to planning and supply chain teams.
7. Maintain an accurate database of vendor agreements and forward completed agreements to Merchandise Planning.
8. Assist sales staff and management with customer service by handling special orders and providing stock availability and product knowledge.
9. Consolidate buying feedback reports and provide recommendations per brand portfolio.
