Job description

We are currently looking for a Scrum Master for our UAE operations with the following skill set and terms & conditions.

Role Purpose
  • The Scrum Master ensures that the Scrum process is used as intended.
  • Keep the Development Team aligned with the Scrum framework, values, and principles, and ensure the team focuses on continuous improvement.
  • Enforce daily builds to detect early issues in the code and functionality delivered.
  • Facilitate Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Product Backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, release planning, and other team activities.
  • Encourage team self-organization and empowerment.
  • Share new industry Agile best practices.
  • Facilitate Retrospectives to generate new ideas for process improvement.
  • Ensure preparation for planning through effective Product Backlog refinement sessions.
  • Ensure planning meetings fully prepare the team for upcoming Sprints and releases.
  • Actively remove impediments that slow the Development Team's efforts.
  • Work closely with the Technical Delivery Manager, Program Manager, and Business Experts to ensure visibility and resolution of challenges.
  • Participate in organizational Agile activities.
  • Promote and support the Development Team’s automated processes.
  • Assist the team in implementing process improvements identified in Retrospectives.
  • Support the Product Owner in writing effective Product Backlog Items and maintaining prioritized backlogs.
  • Assist the Product Owner in the Story refinement process.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to guide the Development Team's efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Identify and manage dependencies with other teams.
  • Work with Project Management for proper project and portfolio reporting, including risk management.
Previous Experience Required
  • 3+ years as a Scrum Master / Project Lead with dedicated agile teams using Scrum or Kanban.
  • 2+ years as a Project Lead / Project Manager.
  • Strong understanding of software and product development.
  • Professional Scrum Certification.
  • Experience practicing Scrum methodologies in Banking.
Key Accountabilities
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and team activities.
  • Support the Product Owner in backlog management and estimation.
  • Ensure teams are well-prepared for Sprints and releases.
  • Coach teams on Agile concepts and continuous improvement.
  • Track, resolve, and report incidents and errors.
  • Address quality and delivery issues proactively.
Project Management and Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Manage project tasks related to the Scrum team and other assignments.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and processes.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
