Position - Lead Technician


Job Summary:


The Lead Technician oversees the daily operations of the technical team responsible for maintaining the buildings systems and infrastructure. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, coordinates maintenance activities, and provides hands-on support in troubleshooting and repair tasks. The Lead Technician acts as the first point of contact for technical issues and supports the Facility Manager in achieving operational goals.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians and contractors on site.
  • Schedule and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex technical problems and provide guidance to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment status, spare parts inventory, and maintenance reports.
  • Assist in preparing maintenance schedules, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for repair work, procurement, and service agreements.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians, promoting skill development and teamwork.
  • Support facility upgrades, project implementations, and commissioning of new systems.
  • Provide input for budgeting and resource planning related to maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
  • 57 years of experience in facility maintenance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building automation (BMS), and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferred.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Working Conditions:

  • May involve shift work, emergency call-outs, or weekend duties depending on facility requirements.
  • Physical activity including lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces may be required.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperature environments.
