Job overview:

The CAD Designer is responsible for creating 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) drawings and models to support the design and development of various products and projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively as part of a team. The CAD Designer will work closely with the Design Manager and other design team members to ensure that all projects are completed to the highest quality standards and in a timely manner.

Main responsibilities:

1. Creating 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models using computer-aided design software.
2. Collaborating with design team members to develop and refine design concepts.
3. Reviewing and analyzing design data to identify and resolve design issues.
4. Maintaining accurate records of design changes and updates.
5. Participating in design review meetings and providing input and recommendations.
6. Performing other job-related duties as assigned by management.
7. Creating detailed technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by architects, engineers, or designers.
8. Managing the As-built and Document close-out procedures in coordination with the project team.
9. Understanding client requirements and translating design concepts into detailed drawings for construction and manufacturing projects.
10. Offering day-to-day support for various technical and CAD-related tasks to assist the project team in delivering high-quality work.
11. Developing supplementary design details and technical drawings to support ongoing projects.
12. Working closely with the project team to verify that all as-built drawings and documentation are accurate, consistent, and meet standards.
13. Preparing and submitting documentation for approval, including follow-up on feedback or revisions.
14. Organizing and maintaining drawing files and project documentation.
15. Coordinating with other drafters and team members to ensure consistency in drawings.
16. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to incorporate design changes and updates.
17. Conducting quality checks to ensure drawings meet industry standards.
18. Meeting project deadlines and timelines for drawing submissions.
19. Staying updated on AutoCAD software updates and industry best practices.
20. Reviewing and interpreting sketches, layouts, and specifications.

Requirements:

• Associates degree in CAD drafting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD.
• Familiarity with design principles and standards.
• Surveying background and experience with setting out and as-built drawings is advantageous.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and other CAD software.
• Bachelor's or Diploma in Drafting, Architecture, or Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant CAD drafting experience, including within the UAE market.
• Previous experience working on Fit-Out projects.
• Knowledge of the latest construction and manufacturing processes globally.
• Understanding of UAE building codes and regulations.
