Key responsibilities:
As our Crewing Officer, you are responsible for ensuring the timely deployment of qualified and competent crew members. This includes managing crew assignments, coordinating crew changes, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Detailed responsibilities are as follows:
- Monitor Training Plan for all seafarers (officers & crew).
- Track all STCW training requirements and validity ensuring courses do not expire during the term of employment.
- Track all ZMI documents related to all crew and ensure compliance with ZMI SHEQ policies.
- Review and verify mobilization invoices from agencies, ensuring accuracy prior to approval for payment.
- Open Personnel Training Matrix for all new joining staff.
- Ensure all training required under ISM is completed timely.
- Prepare and monitor budgets for all offshore staff.
- Check local and client training requirements for every new crew member by following up with the Training Coordinator.
- Follow up with the Training Coordinator regarding training requirements for returning crew members.
- Book required training courses to commence on the first working day after crew arrival.
- Ensure each new crew member receives a training schedule upon arrival.
- Arrange transport for training courses and visa medicals.
- Apply for travel cards and security passes upon crew arrival where applicable.
- Provide MSI’s with relevant data for booking client interviews.
- Arrange and schedule client inductions promptly.
- Ensure all staff joining ships have completed required training before embarkation.
- Maintain a detailed master list and daily status report of training completed, underway, and planned with dates.
- Coordinate with the Training Coordinator to align additional training with port calls to avoid delays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in the marine industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks independently.
- Punctuality and good work attendance.
