Planning Engineer Job Description
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project schedules, baseline work breakdown structures, and resource allocation plans using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and performance against the established schedule and budget.
- Identify critical paths, risks, and opportunities to optimize project timelines and resource utilization.
- Prepare and update progress reports, variance analysis reports, and forecasting reports for management review.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.
- Conduct regular meetings with project teams to review schedule updates, resolve issues, and mitigate delays.
- Analyze project data to support decision-making and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Support the development of project control procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry, preferably with exposure to tower construction projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
