Planning Engineer Job Description

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop project schedules, baseline work breakdown structures, and resource allocation plans using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6).
  2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  3. Monitor project progress and performance against the established schedule and budget.
  4. Identify critical paths, risks, and opportunities to optimize project timelines and resource utilization.
  5. Prepare and update progress reports, variance analysis reports, and forecasting reports for management review.
  6. Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.
  7. Conduct regular meetings with project teams to review schedule updates, resolve issues, and mitigate delays.
  8. Analyze project data to support decision-making and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  9. Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
  10. Support the development of project control procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in the construction industry, preferably with exposure to tower construction projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
