Job Summary:

The Accountant – Payables is responsible for managing the company’s outgoing financial obligations. This includes processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, verify, and process all supplier invoices and employee expense claims.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and staff reimbursements.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
• Assist in month-end closing and provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment issues.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

• Experience in a multinational or large-scale organization.
• Knowledge of VAT regulations and compliance (especially relevant in the UAE).
