The General Procurement Officer is responsible for managing and organizing the company's purchasing process. This role ensures the procurement of materials, services, and equipment with the best quality, at the best price, and in a timely manner. The officer also plays a key role in maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and business partners and in developing effective strategies for general procurement management.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Plan and organize the company's general procurement operations in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards.
Develop and update the supplier database, conduct necessary research and evaluations to identify the most suitable suppliers and business partners.
Negotiate contract terms, pricing, specifications, and quality standards with suppliers; prepare contracts, agreements, and purchase orders in collaboration with relevant departments.
Ensure the timely procurement of required materials, equipment, and services at the best quality and price; monitor quality, cost-effectiveness, and the economic feasibility of purchases.
Manage risks related to contracts and procurement and take the necessary actions to mitigate them.
Continuously review and evaluate the supplier base and assess their ability to meet the company's requirements.
Coordinate with relevant departments to monitor supplier performance and ensure delivery of goods and services in accordance with contracts and specifications.
Prepare reports and analyses related to contracts and procurement, and provide senior management with the necessary information to support strategic decision-making.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Contracts and Procurement.
Educational Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Engineering.
Proficiency in Arabic and English.
Experience :
5 years of experience and knowledge in laws and regulations related to contracts, procurement, tenders, and multiple sourcing of resources.
Abilities and Skills :
Leadership, communication, and coordination skills with various departments within the company.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to handle numbers and information accurately and logically.
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with suppliers and business partners.
Decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Time management and planning capabilities.
Proficiency in computer skills in both Arabic and English.
