Job description

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical problems, configuring computer systems, and maintaining network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of IT support principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to provide top-notch customer service.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide first-line technical support to employees, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
  2. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
  3. Respond to support tickets and inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
  4. Troubleshoot network connectivity problems, including Wi-Fi and VPN issues.
  5. Assist with software installations, updates, and system configurations.
  6. Maintain IT asset inventory, tracking hardware and software licenses.
  7. Conduct regular system maintenance and updates to enhance security and performance.
  8. Support users in setting up and managing email accounts, passwords, and security protocols.
  9. Work with IT teams to implement cybersecurity measures and prevent data breaches.
  10. Provide training and guidance to employees on IT best practices and system usage.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with networking protocols, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud computing and IT security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
