As a Principal Engineer, you will design, develop, implement, and support infrastructure solutions aligned with corporate business and IT strategies, ensuring a balance between functionality, service quality, and system management. This role involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders and taking full responsibility for the solutions and operational availability of production infrastructure.

In This Role You Will

1. Develop IT solutions that meet customer requirements, ensuring designs are robust, appropriate, and high-quality, conforming to corporate standards and aligned with the technology strategy. Manage and maintain solution designs for complex projects, products, environments, or platforms.
2. Provide expert technical consultancy within the technology domain and lead the delivery of infrastructure solutions.
3. Contribute to the development and maintenance of Architecture Guiding Principles, leveraging architectural knowledge and experience.
4. Lead corporate IT Standards, analyzing potential impacts of technologies, assessing their strategic importance, defining their roles, and reviewing the IT estate periodically.
5. Monitor technology and business innovations, evaluate their relevance to our IT strategy, and lead updates to existing assets or creation of new ones.
6. Ensure solutions meet service level requirements in availability, capacity, security, performance, and reliability. Define standards and metrics, monitor performance, and optimize resource utilization.
7. Maintain high-quality documentation, including detailed designs, configurations, support procedures, and deployment architecture, following templates and guidelines.
8. Manage End of Life replacements for equipment and software, ensuring standards are met and risks are mitigated.
9. Lead solution and design reviews, ensuring alignment with strategic and architectural standards.
10. Advise projects on technical and architectural standards, manage exceptions, and develop new standards as needed. Lead a virtual team of at least 20 professionals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant IT engineering experience.

Knowledge/Skills

• Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining network automation solutions using infrastructure automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of SDN concepts and automation techniques, utilizing scripting and APIs for efficient network operations.
• Proficiency in designing and managing multi-tenant, SDN architectures ensuring secure, high-performance connectivity.
• Knowledge of network provisioning automation for virtualized and containerized workloads, integrating with cloud-native platforms.
• Experience in developing API-driven network automation workflows for self-service provisioning and infrastructure management.
