Job description

JOB OBJECTIVE

To ensure a safe and healthy working environment by implementing and monitoring HSE policies, conducting regular inspections, providing training, and promoting compliance with local regulations and international best practices. The HSE Officer will proactively identify risks and lead initiatives to mitigate hazards across all operations, with a focus on warehouse and logistics environments.

DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
  • Enforce safety procedures and guidelines in line with local legal requirements and company policy.
  • Deliver HSE induction and ongoing training to all employees and contractors.
  • Investigate and report all incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Monitor usage and condition of safety equipment, PPE, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.
  • Support warehouse and logistics operations by ensuring safe use of equipment and adherence to material handling protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training sessions, and permits.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and employee engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in warehouse, logistics, or industrial environments.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, safety codes, and standards.
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Competence in delivering training and safety inductions.
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and equipment handling.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
