A leading company in the real estate sector seeks a General Manager to oversee its property portfolio. The role involves strategic planning, leasing operations, maintenance management, and ensuring tenant satisfaction. Candidates should have extensive experience in real estate and strong leadership skills.
The General Manager – Real Estate is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational execution of the organization’s property portfolio, including leasing, property development, facilities operations, and maintenance services. This role ensures that all real estate assets are maximized for performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance, while delivering high-quality environments for tenants, employees, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leasing Operations:
· Oversee leasing activities, including lease negotiations, renewals, and terms.
· Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to attract new tenants.
· Maintain and build relationships with current and potential tenants to ensure high occupancy rates and tenant satisfaction.
· Ensure compliance with leasing regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
2. Maintenance Management:
· Supervise maintenance operations, including routine and emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and property upgrades.
· Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring all properties are well-maintained, safe, and up to code.
· Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for timely and cost-effective maintenance solutions.
· Ensure maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner to maintain property value and tenant satisfaction.
· Manage and lead a team of leasing agents, maintenance staff, and administrative personnel.
· Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure high employee performance and satisfaction.
· Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
· Set clear goals for the team and monitor performance to achieve operational objectives.
4. Customer Service & Tenant Relations:
· Ensure high levels of tenant satisfaction through effective communication and addressing any tenant concerns promptly.
· Oversee dispute resolution and tenant complaints in a professional and timely manner.
· Develop and implement tenant retention strategies to maintain long-term relationships.
5. Compliance & Reporting:
· Ensure all leasing and maintenance operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
· Prepare regular reports on leasing performance, maintenance activities, and financial performance for senior management.
· Analyze market trends and recommend adjustments to leasing strategies to remain competitive.
6. Strategic Planning:
· Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term strategic goals for the division.
· Identify opportunities for growth, including expansion of service offerings, new leasing initiatives, or market expansions.
~ Provide insight into market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer needs.
· Ensure all real estate and facilities operations comply with legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Coordinate with legal and compliance teams for property contracts, insurance, and risk mitigation.
Desired Candidate Profile
· Minimum education required, Master degree in the relevant field.
· 10–15 years of progressive experience in real estate, leasing, facilities, and maintenance, including leadership roles.
· Proven ability to manage complex property portfolios and large cross-functional teams.
· Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
· In-depth knowledge of property law, leasing agreements, and facilities systems
· Proficiency with real estate and facilities management software (e.g., CAFM, CMMS, ERP systems)
· Experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, CAPEX planning, and regulatory compliance.
