Job description

The Director - Planning, Transport and Landscape shall provide leadership, direction, and oversee technical excellence within the E&D - Planning, Transport and Landscape Capability for the Middle East business. This role is responsible for the quality of deliverables and works closely with Markets and Accounts to meet regional revenue and EBIT targets, focusing on maximizing profit from the E&D - Capability. The scope includes Transport Planning & Mobility, Strategic Planning, and Masterplanning.

The key measurable aspects and KPIs include:

1. Capability Strategy – Support the Regional Director in developing and implementing strategies aligned with the Long Range Plan, Business Plan, and specific E&D targets, including P&L, EBIT, and Headcount.
2. Resource Demand Management – Manage resource requirements, recruitment, retention, and performance, with strategic planning for resource allocation across the business.
3. Technical Excellence – Develop and deploy tools, techniques, and training to enhance technical capabilities.
4. Overhead Management – Ensure resource management aligns with the overhead budget.
5. Talent Management – Lead talent identification and development initiatives, including succession planning.
6. Technical Development – Collaborate with HR and Markets to identify and implement technical development needs.
7. Win Work – Support proactive efforts to secure new projects involving E&D scope.
8. Leadership & Vision – Demonstrate leadership qualities and AtkinsRéalis values, fostering an inspiring and inclusive environment.
9. Future Business Planning – Assist in developing and implementing short, medium, and long-term plans for the Capability.
10. Nationalisation Targets – Support achievement of nationalization and ICV targets to sustain operations.

The core responsibilities are categorized as follows:

A – Profitable Delivery

Support Markets and Accounts in delivering high-quality projects, including:

• Developing and deploying quality tools and guidelines
• Conducting audits for compliance
• Supporting Key Account Management (KAM) and client development activities
• Supporting Win Work initiatives and client strategy workshops

B – Capability – Operational Excellence

Ensure the use of best tools and techniques, identify new ways of working, manage risks, develop talent strategies, support recruitment, and manage resource allocation. Lead organizational design, leadership behaviors, learning and development, and digital transformation initiatives.

C – Leadership & Strategy

Enable people, manage business, and develop new Capability concepts. The role requires extensive technical experience, SME status in E&D - Planning, Transport and Landscape, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to lead Capability development and represent the business externally. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience, preferably from a consultancy background with client experience, recognized as an industry leader in the field.
