Job Purpose

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and correcting processes and procedures to identify and eliminate potential hazards in the working environment across logistics operations. This role involves planning, developing, implementing, and managing various safety and security services, including office premises security systems, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and bank policies. The manager also oversees proactive spend management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic initiatives.

Key Result Areas

  1. Develop, plan, and oversee policies for a safe, secure, and healthy work environment across all branches and offices.
  2. Implement bank-wide security strategies, policies, and SOPs to safeguard employees, customers, and assets.
  3. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal security regulations and liaise with authorities to stay updated on requirements.
  4. Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and improve security posture.
  5. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of physical security systems such as access control, CCTV, alarms, and intrusion detection.
  6. Manage security guard operations across premises.
  7. Lead digital security initiatives, including facial recognition authentication and parking management systems.
  8. Collaborate with stakeholders to address security needs, including overseas offices, maintaining consistent security standards.
  9. Negotiate contracts with security vendors and ensure SLA compliance.
  10. Coordinate with departments like IT, Facilities, and Business to align security initiatives with business goals.
  11. Lead security projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
  12. Conduct training and awareness programs on security protocols and emergency procedures.
  13. Implement incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches or thefts.
  14. Monitor security metrics and prepare reports for senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  15. Evaluate vendor performance and conduct regular reviews for SLA compliance.
  16. Obtain police approvals for branch activities, trade license renewals, and other regulatory requirements.
  17. Manage corporate crisis and emergency management plans for all locations.
  18. Coordinate Mashreq's Safety & Security operations and stakeholder engagement.
  19. Ensure security measures align with Mashreq’s strategic goals for premise setup projects.
  20. Provide technical support for security system requirements across all offices, including overseas locations.
  21. Assist in budgeting for security system installations and upgrades.
  22. Coordinate with local authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
  23. Develop and maintain safety, security, and emergency manual manuals, monitoring compliance system-wide.
  24. Design and manage business continuity and crisis management plans, including drills and exercises.
  25. Arrange and deliver training programs on first aid, fire safety, and related safety measures.
  26. Prepare technical specifications for security systems to meet local regulations and standards.
  27. Leverage digital technology and innovative approaches to enhance physical security.
  28. Manage outsourced resources via SLAs and KPIs.
  29. Develop emergency response plans, oversee drills, and conduct site safety audits.
  30. Implement access control measures and monitor premises and system access.
  31. Conduct security audits and inspections of operations and premises.
  32. Design security system plans, including technology selection and installation procedures.
  33. Coordinate with stakeholders such as IT, Facilities, and security personnel to meet requirements.
  34. Ensure proper installation and configuration of security components following best practices.
  35. Ensure comprehensive security coverage to protect operations, employees, and customers.
  36. Liaise with local authorities and partners for permissions and compliance across UAE.
  37. Implement SOPs and standards for safety and security measures.
  38. Manage risk registers and ensure timely execution of access requests.
  39. Maintain accurate records of access control, especially for resigned staff, in coordination with HR and tenants.
  40. Manage LEAN activities efficiently.
  41. Oversee event management, ensuring safety and security during events, seminars, and VIP visits.
  42. Supervise maintenance schedules and support vendor submissions for PTWs.
  43. Develop detailed security system design and installation plans.
  44. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met.
  45. Ensure proper installation and configuration of security systems following manufacturer and industry standards.
  46. Develop comprehensive security measures to protect bank assets and personnel from risks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Graduate with 10-12 years of experience in safety and security environments.
  • Experience in customer-related security and safety services.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
  • Formal security training from recognized institutions or armed forces.
  • Knowledge of security procedures, risk mitigation, investigation techniques, and report writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PPT, and MS Project.
