Job Description

Storekeeper – Vehicle Spare Parts and Related Areas

Summary of the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Storekeeper specializing in vehicle spare parts to manage and oversee the storage, organization, and distribution of spare parts and related materials in our warehouse. Success in this role will be marked by efficient inventory management, accurate record-keeping, and the timely supply of parts to meet customer and operational demands. As a Storekeeper, you will play a key role in supporting the overall operations of the organization by ensuring the availability and organization of spare parts, contributing to the smooth functioning of the business.

This role is vital to ensuring the organization runs efficiently, enabling technicians, maintenance teams, and customers to receive the right parts in the right quantities at the right time.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

  • Accurately manage and maintain stock levels of vehicle spare parts, ensuring optimal inventory levels at all times.
  • Regularly update inventory records and track incoming and outgoing spare parts to ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and recorded inventory.

Receiving and Storing Spare Parts

  • Receive deliveries of spare parts, verify the accuracy of items received, and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Safely and securely store spare parts, ensuring proper labeling and organization for easy retrieval.
  • Ensure all parts are stored according to safety standards, minimizing risks of damage or loss.

Issuing and Distributing Spare Parts

  • Accurately issue spare parts to technicians, maintenance teams, or customers based on requests, work orders, or sales orders.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient distribution of spare parts, prioritizing urgent requirements while maintaining proper records.

Quality Control and Inspection

  • Inspect spare parts for damages, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate team for resolution.
  • Ensure parts are stored in a clean, organized, and safe environment, adhering to all safety and quality standards.

Record Keeping and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including parts issued, returned, or transferred within the organization.
  • Prepare reports on inventory status, stock levels, and any issues related to spare parts to inform management decisions.

Collaboration and Support

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to identify and order the right parts based on usage trends and demand forecasts.
  • Assist the maintenance or technical teams in identifying and sourcing the appropriate spare parts to support operations.

Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all safety protocols and guidelines are followed when handling, storing, and distributing spare parts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store area to comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
